A busy day in the neighborhood
Today my wife and I are having a rummage sale in hopes to make a little bit of money to help make ends meet. Her unemployment thankfully just started coming in as of yesterday so that means we may be able to start taking care of some bills that we've been putting off or making smaller payments on until we get on our feet again.
It's kind of crazy with the whole idea of a "rummage sale." It's almost a "garbage sale" because one man's trash is another man's treasure. We are done with this stuff, and instead of just throwing it away we sell it to someone who needs it. It's kind of crazy to think about really.
There really wasn't a lot meant to be involved in this post. I haven't posted in awhile, and I had this random thought I felt I'd share.
Keep moving forward…
"Keep moving forward..."
It's the quote that Meet the Robinsons lives by as the main character consistently fails at creating a working invention. He begins to get down on his luck before finding his way. All the supporting characters politely try to tell him to "Keep moving forward" even though in his heart he's done with trying.
The economy has yet to completely turn around eventhough numbers show that it's likely on the rebound. Unemployment numbers have been slowly declining every month. Unfortunately for my family, my wife is the latest victim to the unemployment trend. This has no doubt provided some uncertainty for our family. We just had a beautiful little girl who is only ten weeks old, and we have to also care for our going on three year-old son.
For some reason, however, I keep thinking of this quote. I realize that we have struggles and challenges ahead, but I wouldn't be here today where I'm at if I didn't meet with my own fair share of struggles plus obstacles to overcome. We cannot and will not give up not only because we have two wonderful children, but we cannot and will not give up for each other. She is my rock. She is my better half, and she is ultimately the reason why I am here today. She's re-invigorated my drive and motivation to give me direction in life when in college I was not doing my best.
So join me when I say, "Keep moving forward." You never know when you might need it.
