Review web analytics

Reviewing web analytics is perhaps one of the single-most important things you can probably do to have a successful internet marketing and web based strategy. The internet provides you the chance to review your data almost immediately several times a day rather than waiting for reports to come in.

Here are some items to look at when reviewing your data:

  • What are your traffic sources? Direct traffic, search engines or referring sites?
  • Are your "call-to-action" or "CTA" items on your site effective? Do they work better when displayed in different order?
  • Is your bounce rate high or low? Are people immediately leaving your site after arriving?
  • What is the average time spent on your site? Are your customers engaged in the content?
  • What are the top viewed/visited pages in the site? Are they what you're targeting, or are your key portions of your site being ignored or simply not found?

The information provided from web analytical data can tell you the story of your site in a matter of seconds. Take time to review and customize your reports to provide the most important data to your business to make good decisions for your web based strategy.
