When I started TweetDeck this morning I was asked to update. According to the TweetDeck website the Adobe AIR application is now on version 0.34.2. If you’re an avid user of this great social media application like myself you were excited to see what was coming. Here’s a quick rundown on what you can expect.
- New integration with Google Buzz and foursquare
- Ability to check-in to foursquare directly
- View YouTube videos within TweetDeck, and record and share video clips though TwitVid
- Scheduling feature to check-in or send a tweet in the future
- Use Global Filter to remove unnecessary tweets by account, service or hashtag
- Add networks that use a compatible Twitter API, like WordPress or Tumblr
Some of these updates were long overdue – especially the ability to schedule updates. Sites like HootSuite have been doing this for some time which I know of several people personally who went from TweetDeck to HootSuite simply because of this feature. It made it simpler to use for business purposes. Now that TweetDeck can provide this will anyone go back to it? Will it gain more market share? Only time will tell, but I am excited to start using it right away!
